George BROWN:
Notes:
Which Kirton?: There are 2 quite separate Kirtons in Lincolnshire. In the Brown's case, Kirton refers to "Kirton in Lindsey", or Kirton Lindsey, south of Scunthorpe, as evidenced by the 1851 Census records. Just "Kirton" normally refers to a town south-west of Boston also called Kirton in Holland, which has other towns around it like Kirton Fen. The 2 Kirtons are about 80 Km apart.
