Notes:

I have no information on her origins or emigration to Australia. Her DoB comes from her marriage and death records.

The name Katherine Hanlon indicates Irish heritage and she may have been an Irish orphan from the Dublin area. Her father 'Thomas' was not present at her marriage, nor were any others of her family. In addition she signed with an X - unusual by 1890 - which suggests that the spelling of her name isn't reliable, so she could also be Catherine Handlon, Hanlan, or O'Hanlon, Hanlin, etc. (Her sister's MC and children's BCs mostly showed the spelling of 'Handlon'.)

She had a sister Margaret who married John Henry Talbot in 1882 (as evidenced by the newspaper item on her death in 1834). He was one of the witnesses at Katherine's wedding.
