Mary Eveline Prior lived with her Aunt, Mary Jane Hallam nee Prior. Although the death notice gave her surname as 'Hallam (Graham)' and says she was adopted, the adoption was probably informal. Her name recorded on the DC was 'Mary Eveline Graham Prior'. From both of these sources, it could be assumed that her father's surname was Graham. It has been suggested (from verbal family history) that the father was Archibald Hamilton - Amy's second husband - but there is no objective evidence to support this. At the time of Mary's conception/birth, he was married to Jane Sanders, who died in 1930.
